The bike is a Raleigh Sport mens Road bike The serial number is M9AH19120. I checked online for serial charts and not come close to matching mine. Thankfully, they tend to have the Sturmey Archer hubs with the date on it.

I have a 1973 blue mink Pro I bought new while working at Michaels Cyclery in Ames, Iowa. I bought the Mondia back this January (2015) from the woman I sold it to in 1973, so I may have to reswap them to put the original back on the Pro and restore order to the Universe. I had thought it was a Team Raleigh, but now realise it's a Professional with its' fastback seat stays, sloping crown fork and 'CC' cut into the bottom Bracket.

I sold a Mondia to afford the Pro ( bought at cost), but swapped out the Mondia's extra wide Cinelli bars (love them) and stem for the Pros GB/TTT set before I sold it. It was sprayed in Raleigh team colours and I had it given to me when I rode for Nottingham based VC Europa fro 1978-1980. (I being an interested but not a knowledgeable person of this mark) The only highly detailed information about this particular bicycle on the web is this one article!

For example, a team frame stamped HL.1.83 would be for Henk Lubberding, his first frame for 1983. This is stamped on the under side of the bottom bracket.

It is measured from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat lug. w=724" class="size-full wp-image-461" src="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/sbdu-ilkeston-stock-team-frame-dimensions.jpg? w=750" alt="SBDU Ilkeston Stock Team Frame Dimensions" srcset="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/724w, https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/sbdu-ilkeston-stock-team-frame-dimensions.jpg? w=750" class="wp-image-92 size-full" src="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/raleigh-ti-bottom-bracket-super-record.jpg? w=750" alt="TI Raleigh Team Pro 753 Campagnolo Nuovo Record Bottom Bracket" srcset="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/raleigh-ti-bottom-bracket-super-record.jpg? w=338" class="size-full wp-image-490" src="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/ti-raleigh-team-pro-753-campagnolo-seatpin1.jpg? w=750" alt="TI Raleigh Team Pro 753 Campagnolo Seatpin" srcset="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/ti-raleigh-team-pro-753-campagnolo-seatpin1338w, https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/ti-raleigh-team-pro-753-campagnolo-seatpin1.jpg?

There are also a couple of small differences due to the age and growing rarity of components. Seat posts for these 753 frames are either 27.0 for small frames or 26.8 mm for large frames. 801 was slightly lighter, and 803 was used on larger frames. Serial numbers without the SB prefix can also be found stamped into the fork steerer column. There are no detailed records or logs for frames produced by the SBDU.

So, here goes, starting with frame and forks – this might get a little bit detailed and will be a very long post so please bear with me! w=700" class="size-full wp-image-121" src="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/raleigh-ti-frameset.jpg? w=750" alt="1980 TI Raleigh Team Pro 753" srcset="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/700w, https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/raleigh-ti-frameset.jpg? My seat pin size is 27.0 mm because of the 801 tubing. All dating evidence is done by comparing your number against others.

The thread on my seat lug has been removed and I use a Campagnolo Seat Pin Binder Bolt. w=750" class="size-full wp-image-505" src="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/ti-raleigh-team-pro-753-campagnolo-sl-pedals.jpg? w=750" alt="TI Raleigh Team Pro 753 Campagnolo SL Pedals" srcset="https://raleighsb4059.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/ti-raleigh-team-pro-753-campagnolo-sl-pedals.jpg?
